Roller Skate Skills & Safety
You will practice and play while learning the basics of roller skating and safety in this session incorporating games and music. I will help you build confidence while rolling by emphasizing proper technique of beginner and intermediate skate skills: falls, stops, turning, backwards skating and jumps. You will learn everything you need to know to feel confident skating on your own. Blades or quad skates are okay. *MUST have skates, helmet, wrist, and elbow and knee pads. Loaner gear and skates are available to you if needed.

FEE: $130 + $25 materials fee (S2); $150 + $25 materials fee (S3)

Shauna (skate name Dotie) is a Level 2 certified skate instructor through the Skate Instructors Association (Skate IA) and has years of skating experience across a number of disciplines, including casual, street and trail skating, roller derby and dance skating. She is passionate about spreading her love of roller skating to others and developing the skate community throughout the county. She owns and operates Doomsday Skate School, which offers skate classes throughout the county, and she also co-founded The SLORoll, a community skate initiaUve dedicated to developing the local skate community, which offers regular free pop up roller discos across the county throughout the year. |
