3-16-2020: Email to Community
Archived article
Dear Cuesta Community,
California Governor Gavin Newsom directed that those who are age 65 or older, and those vulnerable to COVID-19, must practice at-home isolation.
We understand this directive impacts many Cuesta College employees. If you meet these criteria, please do not report to work today (Monday, March 16, 2020). Please contact your supervisor as soon as possible to discuss possible arrangements including, but not limited to, telecommuting.
I recognize that this leaves many questions unanswered and I kindly ask for your patience. Human Resources will provide detail as quickly as possible.
Late last night, Chancellor Eloy Oakley sent an email to California Community Colleges encouraging taking appropriate actions to align with Governor Newsom’s March 15 directive and guidance to plan for disruption to campus operations through June and longer.
Thank you for the great demonstration of care for your colleagues and our students. In this time of uncertainty, the acts of kindness and compassion are important to all.
