COVID-19 Update
Dear Cuesta College community,
The number of COVID-19 cases in our community has increased significantly over the last two weeks. It is critical that we remain diligent in following our protocols to maintain the well being of our campus.
Face coverings are required on campus. The CDC recommends masks that:
- have two or more layers of washable, breathable fabric
- completely cover your nose and mouth
- fit snugly against the sides of your face and don’t have gaps
Disposable face masks are available in Cuesta College Buildings open to the public. You can request masks, gloves, disinfectant spray, hand sanitizer, paper towels through myCuesta. Simply click Work Orders, then select Safety Tools and Sanitizing Materials, and fill in the quick form.
Temperature kiosks on campus provide an easy self-serve, no touch option for students and employees to verify they are fever-free. Updated campus maps identify open buildings, restrooms, and kiosks.
Continue to use the Daily 3 step check:
DAILY 3 STEP CHECK
Please follow the Daily 3 Step Check before coming to campus.
In the last 48 hours, have you had any of the following NEW symptoms?
- Fever (over 100.4 F) without fever reducing medications or feeling feverish (chills, sweating)
- New cough (for those with allergies/asthma, a change in cough from baseline)
- Difficulty breathing
- Sore throat
- Muscle aches or body aches
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- New loss of taste or smell
- New onset of severe headache, especially with fever
Have you been within 6 feet of a person with a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes, or had direct contact with their mucus or saliva, in the past 14 days?
Has a public health official advised you to get tested for COVID-19?
If you answer yes to any of the above, do not return to campus. Please click here for guidelines on when you can return to campus.
Employees should contact Human Resources at hr@cuesta.edu or (805) 546-3129.
Students should contact their primary care provider or the Student Health Center at studenthealthcenter@cuesta.edu or (805) 546-3171.
As the pandemic stretches, it is important that we are intentional in our effort to keep our campus healthy. Practice the daily 3 step check, wash your hands frequently, practice social distancing, and wear a mask. The well being of Cuesta College depends on each of us!
