This class will focus on Indigenous relationships with and practices of caring for the land and focus on the Indigenous people of San Luis Obispo County and Region, the yak titʸu titʸu yak tiłhini, Northern Chumash tribe. These land management practices include agriculture and irrigation methods, cultural burning and beyond that date back time immemorial. Community members will tour and discuss the Chumash Garden planted at the Adobe and take home seeds to plant their own three-sisters garden in the Spring.
