The Engineering Club
AGES: 7 - 13 years
In 2022, Sara initiated The Engineering Club at Hawthorne, continuing it at the SLO Library in 2023. The club engages children in hands-on STEM activities such as using 3D pens, creating epoxy resin jewelry and boxes, planning for 3D printing with Tinker-cad, designing solar-powered tiny houses, and constructing miniature cities. These projects are designed to foster creativity, enhance problem-solving skills, and cultivate a strong interest in engineering. This class will build on these successful activities, providing young students with a dynamic and interactive learning experience.

I earned my Ph.D. in Product Design from Kobe Design University in 2016, specializing in designing educational materials and sets aimed at increasing student motivation in learning science. My research also involved studying the interactions between these materials and elementary school students. I also hold a master's degree in the same field from Kobe Design University, completed in 2012, and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Tehran, obtained in 2007. |
