Cuesta and SLO Behavioral Health Co-host Awareness Gallery
SAN LUIS OBISPO – In partnership with the San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health Department, Cuesta College is hosting an Awareness Gallery to reflect the needs and perspectives of the Cuesta College campus community. The gallery focuses on mental health awareness, basic needs, resources, and wellness. It opens Sept. 14 and runs through Oct. 12.
“Millions are affected by mental illness each year, including our Cuesta College students, employees, and family members,” said Dr. Jill Stearns, Cuesta College Superintendent / President. “I invite you to step into the Mental Health Awareness Gallery, which provides a safe space to raise awareness around the common issues that impact our campus community, spark conversation, and break the stigma surrounding mental illness.”
The Awareness Gallery is an informative and interactive exhibit. Its goal is to encourage participants to self-reflect and create an inclusive social environment by promoting healthy lifestyles and utilizing campus and community resources and support services.
