Mask Requirement Update
March 10, 2022
Dear Colleagues,
As previously announced, on March 14, 2022, the indoor campus mask protocol will move from required to encouraged. You have the option to require, request, or welcome masks in your classroom, instructional laboratory, or individual workspace. To assist students and employees with understanding your preference, please post one of the signs available on the COVID-19 webpage which clearly depicts whether the area requires, requests, or welcomes masks. Masks are available via the Work Order tab in myCuesta.
Please note that while CDC, CDPH, and SLO Public Health no longer require masks in public indoor spaces, California Department of Public Health includes the following information in the preamble to the guidance for schools: Masks remain one of the most effective and simplest safety mitigation layers to prevent transmission of COVID-19 infections. High quality masks, particularly those with good fit and filtration, offer protection to the wearer and optimal source control to reduce transmission to others.
This is a significant transition for our campus community; one that is both strongly welcomed and heartily opposed. Please follow posted mask signage. Your respect for, and kindness to, others during this period of transition is most appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and continued efforts to maintain the health and well-being of Cuesta College.
Face masks signs are available to download below.
