Emergency Medical Services Department
EMS Programs Information
Cuesta's Emergency Medical Services Programs (EMS) trains students for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-Basic) certification and for Paramedic licensure. An EMT Refresher course is also offered in the spring and fall semesters. Students are taught the fundamental principles and skills required to provide emergency medical care for the sick and injured at the scene of an emergency and/or during transport to a healthcare facility. Our training programs prepare students to function as beginning practitioners according to state and national standards. Hands-on clinical and field internship experiences are part of the training.
