Job Description Summary: The mission of the Cuesta Ambassador Program is to serve as representatives of Cuesta College and assist with increasing communication and visibility in the community. Cuesta Ambassadors also serve as role models for visiting students as well as the campus community. A Cuesta Ambassador is an enrolled student at Cuesta College who serves as a knowledgeable representative who provides information to help prospective and current students and community members learn more about Cuesta College. In addition, Cuesta Ambassadors facilitate the college exploration process for future and prospective Cuesta students by teaching students the foundation of higher education through interactive outreach and providing engaging tours of Cuesta College’s campuses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead informative and engaging campus tours for prospective students, supporters, alumni, and special guests on both SLO and NCC campuses
• Collaborate with admissions & outreach team to organize, plan, and conduct outreach visits to local high schools
• Conduct cold calls to prospective Cuesta students, informing them about Cuesta and answering questions
• Each ambassador will assist the ESS and Student Success Team relating to their major with events, outreach activities, and student ambassador spotlights, or visits
• Wear the Cougie mascot costume at school sanctioned events.
• Attend bi-weekly to monthly staff meetings to engage in training and enhance knowledge about the campus, academic offerings, and student resources
• When appropriate, work with the marketing team to document events and showcase Cuesta to future students PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be a current Cuesta College student, enrolled in at least 6 credits, and maintain a 2.0 GPA
• Must participate in the program for an entire year
• Must have own transportation to and from activities/events
• Ambassadors must maintain good communication with the Cuesta Ambassador program coordinator
• Must not exceed 20 hours of work per week in all student jobs combined at Cuesta College
• Monthly training will be held in order to convene as a team as well as develop skills in public speaking, leadership and gain an awareness of social justice issues in education.

At a minimum, candidates must come to the job with basic First Aid and CPR certifications, a desire to work with children, and a willingness to learn. We provide pre-employment online training as well as a week of onsite training for all basic skills pertaining to our counseling and other job roles. Additionally, staff participate in goal-setting sessions with weekly check-ins and a staff portfolio to track personal and professional development.

The schedule is flexible, the student and the Food Service Director from the district would work together to create a 12-hour-per-week schedule. The goal is that the student completes the required 84 hours of on-site work experience in the seven weeks of the Pre-Apprenticeship.

- Performs a patient assessment, obtains a pertinent medical report from the referral staff, determines the need for stabilization in a collaborative manner, performs interventions and assesses the patient response to those interventions.
- Use medical supplies, medications, equipment and procedures including, but not limited to, defibrillators, EKG monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, oxygen administration and suction devices, hemodynamic monitoring, intravenous fluids, CPR and other procedures as required to provide the highest quality inter-hospital patient care.
