WHAT

Exciting News! Cuesta College is bringing its General Curriculum for aviation mechanics training to Paso Robles High School and Arroyo Grande High School! This is your chance to dive into the world of aviation maintenance with courses AVMT 110 and AVMT 120. Each course runs for an academic year, so you can learn at your own pace while still in high school or as part of a more flexible schedule.

  • AVMT 110 and AVMT 120: Your gateway to aviation maintenance
  • FAA Certification: Pass both courses and you're eligible to take the FAA written test for your general certificate
  • Next Steps: Once you complete these courses, you can move on to the Airframe or Powerplant curriculum

Starting Fall 2024

  • Paso Robles High School

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00 - 6:20 PM, and every other Saturday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (in San Luis Obispo)

  • Arroyo Grande High School

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:00 - 7:20 PM, and every other Saturday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM (in San Luis Obispo)

All Saturday sessions will be held at the Cuesta Aviation Training Campus in San Luis Obispo. Classes take off on October 1, 2024, and land on May 22, 2025.

  • SLO Airport Facility (for Saturday sessions)

Most of the classes will take place at your high school, but some hands-on training with real aircraft will happen at the SLO Airport Facility.

Easy Enrollment Process:

  1. Apply to Cuesta College via CCCApply
  2. Complete the Enrichment Enrollment Steps
    1. Complete online enrichment orientation
    2. Permit to Enroll (student, parent/guardian, and school admin/counselor signature required)
    3. High School Enrichment Clearance Form
    4. Register and Attend the course
    5. Pay any necessary fee(s).
