SAN LUIS OBISPO – Cuesta College welcomes 800 local high school seniors to experience college life and learn about the Cuesta Promise Scholarship. The 6th Annual Promise Day is this Friday, Oct 18 on the San Luis Obispo campus and begins at 9:30 a.m. in the gymnasium with a welcome from Superintendent / President Dr. Jill Stearns.

New this year are two workshop tracks designed for career and college major explorations. Students will tour classrooms and facilities and meet with faculty and staff representing various departments, including business, culinary arts/hospitality, engineering & technology, fine arts, kinesiology, performing arts, sciences, and more. Following the open house, students will gather in Cougar Park for lunch, a resource fair, and giveaway prizes.

The Cuesta Promise Scholarship offers two years of fee-free college to all recently graduated San Luis Obispo County high school students. Since launching in 2013, the Cuesta Promise has provided financial aid to nearly 4,000 San Luis Obispo County students. Last year, 927 students received the Promise Scholarship.
