Cuesta Marketing Wins State Awards
Cuesta College’s Marketing and Communications Department was recently honored with three awards from the Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO), the statewide professional development and service organization that seeks to promote excellence in California’s community college public relations and related professionals. Each year, CCPRO recognizes the outstanding marketing efforts of the 113 California community colleges with the PRO Awards. This year, more nominations than ever before were received by the organization, topping out at over 330 submissions.
Cuesta College received three 2017 PRO Awards in the following categories:
- 1st place: Performing Arts Campaign (a campaign promoting the fall 2016 theatre production of The Emma Peel Game included original photography, art layout and design, media coverage, social media, and an in-house produced promotional video)
- 2nd place: General College Brochure (a comprehensive brochure used in college outreach to promote degrees and certificates, programs, services, financial aid, student life, and more)
- 3rd place: Media Success Story (for the department’s efforts to plan and execute a successful media coverage strategy that promoted an internally produced Veteran Suicide Prevention Awareness Video and message)
“Year after year, the Cuesta College Marketing and Communications Department is recognized at the statewide level,” said Cuesta College’s Executive Director of Foundation/Advancement Shannon Hill. “I am so proud of our marketing and communications team. These awards reflect the department’s dedication to ensuring our community is aware of the excellent work carried out daily at Cuesta College.”
Cuesta College’s Marketing and Communications Department is responsible for the campus-wide branding of the college, including marketing, social media, advertising, media relations, and website management. The department is also responsible for the design and creation of collateral material for the District and the Cuesta College Foundation.
