Student Gets SoCalGas Scholarship
A $1,500 SoCalGas scholarship was recently awarded to Cuesta College engineering student Gillian Stargensk. The scholarship is intended for full-time students enrolled at a community college who plan to transfer to a four-year university. Stargensk plans to transfer to Cal Poly as a mechanical engineer major in the fall of 2017.
“Gillian, like many other students and young adults, represents the future of California,” said SoCalGas District Manager Timothy Mahoney. “At SoCalGas, we want to support the next generation of leaders and inspire students to pursue higher education and careers in the fields of engineering, math, science, business and accounting. Our scholarships are a way to give back to the residents and communities we serve.”
Representatives of SoCalGas throughout Southern California work with their communities and local organizations to identify and select scholarship recipients. The Southern California Gas Company is the primary provider of natural gas to the region of Southern California.
