Election Impacts on Students
The following statement is from Cuesta College Superintendent/President Dr. Gil Stork:
“In light of the recent presidential election, Cuesta College would like to remind you that financial aid remains available for all students, including undocumented students, to pursue your educational goals. The college supports the following message from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office: ‘While the presidential election has been divisive and has sparked anxiety and uncertainty on our campuses, we will always embrace the values of inclusion and diversity and support all students who want to build better lives for themselves and their communities. No student should forgo the opportunity to apply for financial assistance.’ To read the full statement from the Chancellor’s Office, click here.
As we begin to come to terms with what the results of this week’s election mean for our country and the world beyond, it is completely understandable that complicated feelings might be presenting themselves.
Cuesta College cares about you. Our students are an important thread in the fabric that makes Cuesta College a unique and caring learning environment. If you have concerns or questions, do not hesitate to contact the Office of the Vice President of Student Services at (805) 546-3116.”
