Over the coming days, Cuesta College will host debate-viewing and voter registration events. The goal is to provide students and the public with an opportunity to become engaged in the current political process.

The presidential debate-viewing events will take place on Wednesday, October 19, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on the San Luis Obispo Campus in room 5401, and on the North County Campus in Dallon’s Hall (room N3102). The events are free to attend and dinner will be provided.

“We expect approximately 100 people to come out and watch the debate,” said Cuesta College Student Life & Leadership Coordinator Dr. Anthony Gutierrez. “We hope to provide a fun way for students to find out how their views compare with others and get a range of perspectives on the issues.”

Voter registration events will occur on October 20 and 24 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at various locations on the San Luis Obispo Campus and North County Campus. According to Gutierrez, Cuesta College students will walk around campus throughout the designated time period to talk with students and use tablets to register them.

The events are provided courtesy of the Cuesta College Office of Student Life & Leadership and funded via the California Community Colleges Civic Impact Project.
