In order to be admitted and attend Cuesta College, International Students must agree to the following:

  1. I am familiar with the U. S. Citizenship & Immigration Services guidelines for issuance of an I-20 status.
  2. I will conduct myself in an acceptable manner on campus, or at any other college instructional site, and when representing Cuesta College in any off-campus activity. I am expected to comply with all policies related to student disciplinary matters (Student Conduct Code 6200). As a non-resident and international student on a F-1 Visa, it is my responsibility to comply with laws of the United States 8 C.R.S.214.3(g)(2)(ii)(D). If I don’t meet the requirement I will be suspended and terminated in SEVIS.
  3. Cuesta College is not responsible for my health, safety and welfare. I am required to provide major medical insurance coverage. The International Student Counselor or Admissions Office will provide information on policies available to me.
  4. I am required to be enrolled and complete at least 12 credits of college courses per term (Fall and Spring) in order to remain a full-time student and maintain my I-20 status. Credits for distance learning or repeat courses are not counted towards the 12 credits.
  5. You are required to maintain a full time F-1 status (12 credits )per term (fall and spring) and remain in good academic standing of 2.00 grade point average (GPA) at all times and pass no less than 75% of the minimum load per term.
  6. You are required to contact the international counselor before any course adjustments to your schedule to maintain your F-1 status.
  7. I must maintain a 2.0 grade point average or better. Failure to do so will place me on probation. Two consecutive terms on probation will subject me to dismissal from Cuesta College and disqualification from I-20 status.
  8. I will follow the program of studies recommended by the International Student Counselor. I will attend classes regularly as required by Cuesta College.
  9. You must make normal academic progress toward completing your course of study at end date of your I-20 expiration date. 8C.F.R & 214.2(f)(5)(I)
  10. I am fully aware of the expenses incurred while living in the United States and attending Cuesta College, and have the resources to complete my course of study at Cuesta College. I understand that tuition expenses must be paid in full at the time of class registration.
  11. It is my responsibility to secure housing and transportation.
  12. Before seeking on-campus employment on or off-campus, I must receive permission from the International Student Counselor/DSO.  (20 hours a week)
  13. I will notify the International Student Counselor or Admissions Office if I plan to transfer from Cuesta College for any reason. I will notify the International Student Counselor or Admissions Office if any changes occur, which might affect my immigration status as a foreign student.
  14. I am required to complete a Notice of Intention to Transfer or Leave the United States before I leave Cuesta College. I understand that my I-20 may not be transferred if I am out of status.
