Inglés Como Segunda Lengua (ESL)


Cuesta College has 2 ESL options:

 

Life and Work Skills ESL (non-credit)

The purpose of these classes is to provide students with life and work skills. These classes focus on preparing students for employment, to obtain their GED, and to effectively communicate in their community. The classes are free and are for beginning to advanced levels.

 

Academic ESL (credit)

The purpose of these classes is to provide students with college preparation and academic language instruction. The focus of these classes is to prepare students for certificate and degree programs, transfer to a University, vocational certificates, and the GED. Tuition fees apply and Financial Aid is available. These classes are for intermediate to advanced levels.

 

The ESL office will help you determine which ESL option is best for you.

 

Classes are offered during the following

three semesters:

 

FALL (4 months): August – December

 

SPRING (4 months): January – May

 

SUMMER (6 weeks): June - July

 

Our “late start” classes start at a later month.

 

 

Location of Classes:

Classes are offered at both of our Cuesta College campus locations in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, as well as at our Arroyo Grande site located at Arroyo Grande High School.

Classes are also offered throughout the San Luis Obispo County communities of San Miguel, Paso Robles, Shandon, Atascadero, Cambria, San Luis Obispo, Oceano, Arroyo Grande, Nipomo.
