Manuscript Critique Service & Face-to-Face With an Editor

Discounted Fee!

For only $49! The CCWC Manuscript Critique Service is a TREMENDOUS opportunity to jumpstart your project, move it forward a giant step, or answer that nagging inner question your gut has been asking about your work’s genre, voice, starting point, language, or even readiness and how to publish.

Professional Feedback Plus Meet the Editor! Plan to publish? CCWC can help fast-track the quality of your work at a fraction of our editors typical cost. Six professional editors have agreed to critique your work and provide suggestions noting strengths and improvements you can then discuss with them at the conference.

  • When you register for CCWC #30, add on the discounted fee of $49 for this year’s manuscript critique service;
  • Sooner is better, but by August 31, submit the first 10 pages of your fiction or nonfiction manuscript, 24 lines of one or two shorter poems, or 1,200 words of your picture book; Submission information and guidelines click HERE
  • CCWC will then pre-schedule 15-minutes of Face-to-Face time at the Conference with your assigned editor who will further discuss your work during the Conference Friday afternoon or Saturday during lunch break;
  • Your editor will return your critique before the conference so you might even make those suggested changes and discuss next steps at the conference  – or you might discuss your future options on another project.

Susanne (C.S.) Lakin, Jordan E. Rosenfeld, Joan Gelfand, Bonnie Britt, Jeanette Hanscome, and Susan Tuttle are the 2014 CCWC Editors.

Note: Last year a few Face-to-Face time slots opened after our deadline passed. Yes, there will be Face-to-Face appointment slots opened for registrants.

We only guarantee pre-paid Manuscript Critique Face-to-Face appointments, however, if Face-to-Face time slots open, sign-ups will be offered on a first serve basis as you arrive to register Friday afternoon or Saturday mornings. Due to the brief time you would have with the editor assigned, it will not be possible to provide a full review as provided in the pre-paid Critique Service, so we suggest you come to the conference prepared with two copies of the First Page of the manuscript, a drafted Query Letter, or Poem or Picture Book for an editor’s comments. And be prepared to ask the burning question you would want answered by a professional editor.
