Seeing Creatively: Unlock Your Photographic Vision
Improve your picture-taking skills by changing the way you see and think about photography. We’ll explore both practical and conceptual steps to boost your artistic vision AND your photos. Topics: developing a creative mindset, “previsualizing” photos, evaluating natural light, understanding contrast and scale, working with lens perspective and depth of field, showing motion, experimenting with composition, and progressing beyond your “comfort zone.” Course involves critiques, assignments, discussions, and instructional slide shows in the classroom, plus a Saturday field trip that puts it all into practice. Note: For intermediate and advanced photographers. Emphasis is on shooting/camera techniques, and on natural light. Instructor website: www.kerrydrager.com
Field session: On Saturday, Oct. 14, from mid-afternoon through sunset, we’ll meet in the picturesque coastal village of Cayucos. Specifics (i.e., meeting place & time) will be announced in class. Rain date: Oct. 21
