Chinese Brush Painting

Enjoying learning this beautiful art form. Beginning, as well as advanced students learn and practice the skills, techniques, and philosophy of traditional Xieyi style (free style). Learn about the traditions, symbolism, and culture in Chinese art. Step-by step handout and hands on instruction.

Mar 11-12: Learn to paint Trumpet Vine and Goldfish in Chinese Brush Painting technique. Students will be given a detailed lesson plan and hands on instruction in using the brush and color. The instructor will supply the Chinese ink and paper. Students are asked to bring a piece of felt (at least 20x24inches), a water container, a watercolor palette and colors, a saucer (for ink) and Chinese Brushes (white cloud, orchid bamboo, and landscape). Available for purchase will be felt, brushes, and colors. Please bring a lunch. Register Online

April 8-9: Learn to paint Water Lily and Frog in Chinese Brush Painting technique. Students will be given a detailed lesson plan and hands on instruction in using the brush and color. May 20-21: Learn to paint Fuchsia and Hummingbird in Chinese Brush Painting technique. Students will be given a detailed lesson plan and hands on instruction in using the brush and color. The instructor will supply the Chinese ink and paper. Students are asked to bring a piece of felt (at least 20x24 inches), a water container, a watercolor palette and colors, a saucer (for ink) and Chinese Brushes (orchid bamboo, landscape, detail brush).
