CFK Reading, Writing, and Thinking

Creative Writing

Whether it's science fiction or autobiography, a tragic poem or a comedic play, creative writing is fun! In Creative Writing I, students will learn about and experiment with the various forms of creative writing--specifically prose fiction, poetry, and play/movie scripts. Students will learn the "rules" of creative writing (and how to break them!) along with various methods and strategies to get the creative juices flowing. Students are highly encouraged to express themselves by trying new things, using their imaginations, and, of course, having lots of fun! An online portfolio will be compiled at the end of the course featuring the students' work.
