Welcome to San Luis Obispo County Independent Living Program (ILP)

The Independent Living Program (ILP) is designed to meet the needs of youth transitioning from the foster care or juvenile justice system to independent living. Program services are available for youth aged 16-21 who are currently or were formerly in the foster care system. The goal of the Independent Living Program is to help foster youth reach their personal, educational and employment goals during their transition to self-sufficiency.

Mission Statement

The San Luis Obispo Independent Living Program empowers youth through education, life skills training, advocacy, workforce development, and community collaboration.

Through these services, participants in ILP will develop leadership, perseverance, and integrity as they establish lifelong connections that mentor self-sufficiency, independence, and permanency in all aspects of family and community.
