Application Requirements

Applications to Cuesta's AP LVN to RN program are accepted online once a year in June. LVNs who are currently licensed in the state of California who have at least one year of work experience as an LVN, and who meet all other application requirements, including prerequiste coursework may be eligible to apply. Prospective applicants must attend a mandatory AP LVN to RN Information Session in order to be eligible to obtain an application. NOTE:  Conviction of a misdemeanor or felony may constitute grounds for denial of licensure.  Meet with the Director of Nursing to discuss any concerns before applying to the program.

Class Selection

Class selection is determined through an evaluation of academic preparation (GPA), diagnostic assessment test score, and LVN work experience to determine the most qualified applicants to be selected for interview.  Seats are limited to three students each year.  There are no points and no waitlist for this application.  Students who are not selected must re-apply in a future application cycle.
